   Excel Files Information Page

All the Excel files available on the site are suitable for
all versions of Excel from '97 onwards

All full working versions have:

 - full instructions page

 - Team Input by way of a separate worksheet which can be
hidden away (Not available on the preset Leagues)

 - a score reset facility for any input error

 - the third positioning criteria can be switched easily from or
to Games For or Games Won

The scoring criteria is firstly Points Total and then Goal Difference
and if all 3 criteria are equal then position is alphabetical

 -Points deduction facilities

 -can be used for either 1 Home and 1 Away game each or
2 Home games and 2 Away Games at the press of a button

There are 3  points scoring versions available.

 STANDARD    3 pts for a Win - 1 pt for a Draw

 VERSION 2    3pts Win -2 pt Draw

 VERSION 3   3 pts Win

                         2 pts Score Draw

                         1 pt for No Score Draw

All versions of the League Tables are in a standard Excel workbook file.

The Download files are zipped using the standard Winzip

No executable files are used in either the download or the full working versions.

None of the files will allow for renaming : if a file is renamed and saved it will appear as normal however  when an attempt is made to reopen the file it will auto close immediately so be warned  if you save the file as something else and continue to input information you will not be able to open it again and retrieve that information.

Worksheet Pages within each workbook

All the worksheets can be made visible or hidden away. Each worksheet has it's own toggle button to view or hide it.

The Instruction Page

Contains all the essential information required for the initial setting up of the league table.

The Positioning Table Page

which auto positions for each game score entered. With columns for Position / Games Played  Home and Away columns for Wins / Draws / Lose / Goals For / Goals Against and than a final Goals Difference and Points Total column


The Game Score Table Page

shows the game score table and as the information is input for each match the information flows through to the positioning table shown above auto positioning the teams based on the criteria selected.

At the touch of a button the table will :

reposition on either Goals For or Games Won as the third criteria for position.

First criteria  Points Total

Second criteria Goal Difference

If all three criteria are equal then the sort is alphabetical  

Change from a    1 Home and 1 Away match to

                           2 Home and 2 Away matches

Points can be deducted for any team

Some of the input cells for match scores have been protected and disabled.

The file demonstrates all of the features now available in the new versions

In the demonstration when the file opens it has been set on the "Goals For" criteria for determining position after Points and Goal Difference.With this setting you will see that Carlisle are in 18th position and Southend are in 19th position.

Selecting "Games Won" as the third criteria will automatically exchange these two teams positions based on the match scores Southend become placed in 18th position and Carlisle in 19th.

2 points have been deducted from the overall points total for Northampton who show as 9th position.
Removal of this deduction via the "Points Adjust" worksheet will
automatically reposition the table and Northampton will then
be placed 8th with Swansea moving into 9th.
